Ozark Seed Bank |
ABOUT US We collect and maintain seed varieties which are well suited to the Ozarks. Seeds are selected for drought hardiness, disease resistance, vigor and quality of produce. Seed choices are part of our Ozark history. It is our aim to work with Ozark historians to identify and protect the seed varieties of cultural significance to the people of the Ozarks. |

Programs: SEED BANK We keep our seeds at constant temperature and low humidity in the ‘seed vault’ at the Ozark Seed Bank Library in Brixey. Our seed collection contains several hundred seed varieties donated by growers in the local area and an equal number of vegetable seed varieties from seed collectors in the southwest and northeast of North America.
At our library, we present monthly programs on topics of interest to people in our area. Presentations often focus on agriculture, forestry, energy and sustainability.
LOCAL GROWERS Several local growers replenish our stock of heirloom seeds. We’re eager to include seed growers from all parts of the Ozarks.
